Oh man. I loved reading those, too! I think we should create some Baha’i-related Choose Your Own Adventure stories.

So, here’s my story. I told Greg that I wanted Mystery of the Maya, as that one used to be the favorite of Atoosa, Shadi, and me — it was an awesome topic and it had 44 possible endings! But I was a little sad when the new “Mystery of the Maya” arrived, as the new one immediately looked suspicious… it was too new and spiffy, the picture on the cover was totally different, there were only 39 possible endings, and the whole premise of the story seemed different.

First, I wondered if I was imagining all the changes… but then, the old, original “Mystery of the Maya” arrived. And in comparing the two, I found that my suspicions were confirmed. Even the endings in the new one sucked: they were not just stupid, they were pretty judgmental — like once, I decided not to go into the spaceship that arrived on the top of a pyramid, which I thought was a good choice, frankly, but then the story ended and, without even telling me what happened on the spaceship or where it went, it just said “you missed your chance — you blew it.” Actually, I think I totally did the right thing, considering how little I knew about these aliens or their spaceship. I don’t need R.A. Montgomery telling me whether I blew it or not, thank you very much.

Anyway, the old one is sooooooooo much better and I love having my vintage copy now. :) I’m going to read it over and over instead of reading for class.

DUDE! That is so awesome, guys! Speed Racing through game reserves in Africa?! TOO COOL!!!

And how wonderful that you have been reunited with the original Mystery of the Maya, Nas. Bring it on the next trip for sure!
